    AVX1985S and AVX2085S reports

anyone have any experience with either of these? Seems to be an awesome compromise of bass fishing boat and family boat. Similar the the Lund pro V bass. I have been in many different pro V bass rigs and have the have a couple of major issues that keep me from buying one.

I am guessing Vexus addressed a lot of these in their model

    1. Actual dry storage

    2. drier ride (the Lund is smooth but the wettest riding boat I have ever been in)

    3. speed/performance (a hull that actually has a pad and lifts)

there is a couple of videos online but I can't find any real world reports on them.

they are definitely pricey but inline with Lund...I do feel the Vexus potentially offers a lot more for your money than the Lund though.

From looking at dealerships they seem to be selling fast though....maybe I can find a lightly used one in a couple of years.

V-Bar, keep an eye on In-Tune Marine's facebook page. They have a 1985 in stock and they do demo days out on Lake Minnetonka a few times each summer. I crawled around in the 1985 at the NW Sportshow in Minneapolis a month and a half ago and I was thoroughly impressed with the feel of the boat. It was massively wide all the way up to the bow and the layout of the boat was really nice. I couldn't really find anything I could nitpick on the rig. I talked to Aaron Teal at the show and he has driven the 1985 for their on the water reviews and he talked it up pretty good, but obviously that is his job as a sales guy. Should definitely check out that review video if you haven't seen it yet.

Thanks! I have watched that one. I also noticed on their website they have sold a few already. I’m about 5 hours from them but they are likely the closest Vexus dealer that has those boats.

I just reached out to In Tune this morning to get a price on a 1985s. I didn't see one in stock or many reviews but I'll be comparing it to a Pro V Bass. I'm a huge fan of the Pro V Bass but I'm interested in the Vexus as well. In Tune is a decent drive from me but the Lund dealer I'd go through is also in the Twin Cities area. I wish there were more reviews around of the AVX line.

The Lund has a double plated, riveted, 0.205” thick deep V walleye hull. I don’t think you will find a beefier hull in the aluminum market. It’s a proven commodity for sure, but it’s not a bass boat “pad” design. The 2075 with a 250 hp is a 60 mph boat, not fast. It’s an incredibly smooth riding boat, possibly better than any of the fiberglass bass boats, but it also weighs as much as many fiberglass boats, 1,850 lbs. As mentioned, it can be wet if you don’t know how to drive a boat. If you know how to trim the motor and operate the throttle to lift the bow and keep the spray line behind the driver seat when quartering waves you can drive your way to a dryer ride, but it’s still a shortcoming. The Lund storage is cavernous but the layout still lacks a traditional bass boat design as it lacks side locker rod storage. However, the front deck storage compartments are dry. The front deck is massive, but it does come to a narrow point at the trolling motor pedal. Lund uses an aftermarket trailer company, Shorlandr, it just an OK trailer. The Vexus trailer is definitely one of the standout features. My big question with Vexus is have they fixed their aluminum weld issues and does the used market acknowledge that it’s fixed or will it be hard to sell?

Perfect. Sobi and I were on the same college fishing team. I’ll have to give him a call and get a day on the water with him. Glad he is running one this year

Vexus started using .125 aluminum to correct the issue in 21' or 22' IIRC. Vexus will still replace hulls no questions asked for pre .125 aluminum hulls that end up cracking from what I've read... And their CS is top notch.

I enjoy your videos! A detailed report of the 1985s or 2085s would be great. It’s be cool to hear what some drawbacks of that hull are versus the standard avx
