    Is the new trend...

    fishing without shoes on?

I would find it totally less comfortable. And then the ones that really baffle me have long sleeve shirt, hood, buff, and gloves, but bare feet.

Barefoot in the boat is a no go for me, flip flops or tennis shoes, learned a long time ago, I have been finned, and I have had hooks in my foot, neither was pleasant.

I thought the same, one mis-step in the excitement of fighting a big ol' pig at the boat.

Guess I haven't been as into watching tournament fishing in the past few years as I have this year to notice it. But it wasn't a thing 10 years ago that I recall.

Yeah not real comfortable for me. As far as the other part….cant say I ever hear of skin cancer on feet or legs, but your upper body is highly susceptible.

Some people just can't stand anything on their feet. I'm the opposite. Rarely take socks off until I go to bed. Definitely won't catch me barefoot in a bass boat, stepping on hot latches and hooks... no thanks

No thanks. Too many risks and not enough benefits to doing that.

Nothing but my Brooks. Never barefoot and dang sure no flipflaps. Flipflaps and Crocs are the deble.
There's lots of decaffeinated brands that are just as tasty as the real thing.

Yeah, a stray hook will stop that habit quick.

I was down for several days after surf fishing in Florida barefoot in shallow water wading. The sun burn was so bad my feet and legs turned purple. I need to keep them covered to this day to prevent a bad reaction to the sun.

I never backlash, but each time I go fishing I practice fixing them, just in case I ever do really backlash.
