Lowrance Recon Opinions?

Anyone gotten their hands on a Lowrance recon yet and would care to give a review on how good the spot lock is? Thanks!

I don't think it will be very popular for bass fishing. I haven't seen it in person, but if I understand the design, you can't mount forward facing sonar, 360, etc on the shaft.

I tested mine out last week, I’m very impressed. It’s powerful and quiet, and the FreeSteer joystick works beyond my expectations.

The abysmal launch from Lowrance though, customers are rightly angry about it. They’ve delayed it repeatedly since the fall of 2024. Inventory is still scarce, and no retailers in Canada have stock yet. They also delayed their X Marks The Spot new product promo from May 1st, to May 15th, to now sometime in June. I’m seeing a trend.

The Recon is very similar Technology wise as the Ghost. Except it has a more effecient motor than the Ghost by 10% so it 40% energy saving vs 30% Which save more battery power. It was designed unlike many other type TM to mount transducers including AT with out issue. The Big V Bottom boats Salt and Great Lakes will be big hits with this TM. Most bass guys will not use this over the Ghost unless the don't use a typical bass boat then you have more options. There are videos on the Lowrance You Tube channel you can look at.
