This informational as was the previous closed thread.

Jimbo On Lanier posted this about on his FB page an hour ago.

Thanks Tom Hall. If Coach says it I believe it. And I know Emory also whom Coach references in the post below - both very upstanding men. See below regarding COE RAMP CLOSING SITUATION

I wish they would close all the ramps at Guntersville except for the Preston Island ramp. Can you imagine the chit show?

I can't comprehend why they would close a ramp. I get restrooms and pavilions and whatnot because that typically requires more frequent maintenance/cleaning. Boat ramps not so much, unless you have a metric ton of idiots there that ruin stuff.

With the Environmental Protection Agency taking staff reductions and budget cuts, it looks like we’re going to have to shut down the environment, as well.

Also keeping ramps clear of debris, maintaining courtesy docks and adjusting them with fluctuating water levels, clearing shore lines and parking lots, and access roads after high water events, mowing around the area, maintaining lighting, maintaining pay collection station, collecting trash from receptacles, and picking up all the trash littered around the area. Due to lack of funding and personnel, the Corp has turned over several sites on lakes in our region privatizing them. Those privatized sites then charge what they want to use their facilities and boat launch.

I look for even more sites being privatized in the future with reduced funding.
