Mixing Mercury Original Optimax Synthetic Blend oil with the new Optimax blend

Is it okay to mix the Original Optimax Synthetic Blend oil (part number 92-858037K01) with the new Optimax Synthetic Blend Oil (part number) 8M0229798) in the reservoir? The original oil was dark brown/reddish in color and the new blend is an amber color.

I was not aware Mercury changed the Optimax 2 Stroke oil blend when I went to pour in some additional oil and freaked out when the color was amber. I thought I bought the wrong oil cuz it looked like normal engine oil.

Not a "blend change". Rather a "BLENDER change".

I did an experiment and have both oils to test with. I mixed them in a cup together before adding the new opti oil into the tank. Just to make sure. They did just fine and mixed perfectly. I also mixed the old DFI oil with some penzoil XLF and I’d didn’t like it. Formed some weird buildup and really never mixed that well. I was about to switch to penzoil but now that the new DFI oil is out. I’ll stay with merc oil.
