The main gains are in using the power light to know for sure that the switch has power and using the port lights to diagnose networking issues. Don't discount this as it can save you a lot of time and frustration in fixing network issues you might be having.
As for the other gains, Humminbird says that both switches are Gigabit so you probably won't get any more speed. There are those who say they have more stability but I didn't actually have to old switch to compare to.
