    Youth rod and reel

    Looking for a good rod and reel for my 8 year old daughter. Don’t think she’s ready for a spinning reel yet. What combos do you guys recommend?

    There has never been a better reel made for a beginner than a Zebco 33. I just finished puling one apart, cleaning, lubing and putting it back together that is over 50 years old. Still looks great and works great. As for the rod, that would depend a lot on her size and for intended purpose. But a 6' M or MH is a good start for a child.
