Honda BFA225 stalling problem
I have a 2004 Honda BFA225. I will take off and go maybe 200 yards and it will start shutting down coming to an idle. I usually let it sit there and run for a minute and take off and it will run fine. It seems to happen after I’ve driven to a fishing spot and fish maybe 30 minutes. I have dual tanks and it happens on both tanks. I’m trying to determine if it’s a boat problem or a motor problem. I’ve replaced or had replaced the fuel lines and had the tanks checked etc. it’s had a new O2 sensor, thermostats, and lift pump put in. I thinking about going to Bass Pro and buying a fuel tank, put it on back of boat and run it over say 3 trips to see if the problem is resolved. If so then I know it’s from the bulb to the tanks. I’ve replaced the filters as well, plugs also. I’m at my wits end. Surely someone has had this problem. How about it Honda mechanics. Also we have several places here that work on Hondas. I’ve had very poor service. I’m willing to travel to the moon if someone can help me …. Please
Also the bulb is new and doesn't go flat.

Stop throwing parts at it! You’re wasting money. Must have diagnostic computer and check oil pressure faults. of course you can always do the crowbar test!! L O L. What you are doing there is checking the crankshaft end play. Early models all the way to approximately 2020 had notorious oil pressure issues with thrust washer failures due to weight design, and lubrication of washers. to perform the crowbar test, lol again, remove air intake, box on top disconnect. Battery leads first safety is Paramont. utilize a large screwdriver/prybar/crowbar approximately on the VGT dowels, triangular piece on starboard side of motor. Use it as a leverage point. Extreme care does need to be utilized. Not to break anything or cause injury to anyone or anything else. Simply pull down, check vertical lift of belt pulley if you hear of a clank or clunk LOL washers have failed. RIP. Honda does offer, or did, seriously discounted replacement power heads for this failure. There is also an update kit that can be utilized. Utilization of highest grade lubricant is recommended. Friction is your greatest adversary, causing oil pressure, failures and main bearing degeneration. best of luck if you need more advice PM me.

There is a water fuel separator on the back side under the plastic, I had mine run like that , drained it out and that did the trick. Mines an 03 so similar. I can look in my repair manual tomorrow for the name of it, or maybe one of the Honda gurus will chime in.
