    Flex Brake Lines Leaking

First trip out this season I noticed my reservoir really low on fluid. I thought I just forgot to top it off last time I bled the brakes. Should have registered to me since the trailer has been clunking a bit since last season and the rotors have been rusty.

Went out this am to bleed the brakes and found the first caliper with a leaking fitting on the hose from front wheel to rear. Top fitting. That hose looks like it could be a bit longer to take any stress off the connection. It’s gotta be fixed but wondering if this is another “thing” with these trailers?

I bled the system but then stripped the last bleeder. I got confused with righty- tightly-lefty-loosey and think I messed up the threads. Couldn’t get the bleeder out and I stopped. I assume best thing is to buy a new caliper?

Usually I’ll go to the lake and take the boat off. So much easier. This time I didn’t.

All the brake system aren't manufactured by marine masters. My blew the seal out of the surge brake. Got brake fluid all over the back of truck, boat, and trailer. The surge brake is made be Dexter. Don't know on the newer trailers but the older ones brake assy were some small Kia or Dodge or the like. The brake lines, who knows.

Clunking in the tongue is the shock in there is broken or unbolted.

Use vise grips on the bleeder, you can buy new bleeders no problem at Napa etc.

dexter sells the brake hoses as a complete kit, you might be able to get just the long one from marine master.

You could also use aeroquip and assemlbe your own ends and line etc.

Stripped the threads on the bleeder. I can get a wrench on it and rotate the bleeder but it won’t come out.

Found the exact hoses at eTrailer, I think that one, between axles is 36in.

Maybe to late, get 6 point open end brake line wrench. The only thing to use on brake lines, etc.
