    One Boat App- Waypoint Management

Downloaded the app, bought the subscription, updated graphs, connected my graphs (Solix G2, Helix G4N) via bluetooth. Also attempted to connect via Solix WIFI, didn't find any function to that.

There is so much potential with this especially with google map overlay. See a rock/dock/whatever at the depth you like on app, put a waypoint on it, transfer to graph. Saves a few steps from how we used to do it and can do it on smart phone. But is there a better way to transfer/share waypoints besides exporting from app, save to SD card, import to graphs? With the bluetooth or wifi connections it seems like this should be way easier. Am I missing it or is Humminbird?

I guess I'm struggling to understand the purpose of connecting the apps to the graphs. The app just feels like a standalone product with very little integration to your units on your boat besides tracking when updates are available.

I did email tech support, will see how long it takes to hear back.

Edit: you can rename waypoints in chart mode easily.

Wifi has no current function. It is for some future use that has not been announced.

Unit software updates via Bluetooth will start AFTER the current unit software is installed (next future version). Current software prepares the unit for that.

Thanks Wayne. I did hear back from Humminbird and it is correct that you cannot export/share waypoints via bluetooth or wifi.

The issue with doing it manually is you can only export waypoints one at a time. I did see a post on BBC from the fishsmart app where someone made a track of waypoints and exported the track, so there may be some ways to improve it. But overall I would just say this app has an incredible potential but as of right now is only really useful as a standalone device.

Agreed, waypoints can only be exported one at a time but a possible workaround is to add those waypoints to a route. The route can then be exported and once uploaded into HB PC, you can separate the waypoints into a separate file that can then be used to upload into your unit.

I wrote a procedure a while back and posted a pdf with instructions how to export multiple waypoints. See post #5 in the link below for copy of the pdf.
The instructions are for FishSmart but will also work for One Boat Network app although I have found a couple of bugs when doing it.
My understanding is you can export multiple waypoints on an Android device.

I was out on the water and my SD card failed to load the waypoints so I used the app and transferred all to the graph. Great backup! And I just noticed this is 2 years old.

The Waypoint transfer you describe is no longer the case with the most recent version of the One-Boat Network App and the latest 5.xxx updates to the Xplore, Apex, and Solix G3. In fact, it is really slick now. You can transfer all waypoints or select waypoints in a variety of ways from the unit to the app and from the app to the unit.

Now, Helix, that's a totally different story. It doesn't have the new Waypoint transfer capability to the App and is definitely lacking function.
