Slam latch question for 250r owners

Looking to replace the compression latches on my Z520c. Are the slam latches waterproof or just water resistant?

I would be interested in doing that on my 519. Did you find something that will work out and kind of be a direct replacement with out doing a lot of work?

Have not had mine out in the rain yet but I really like the slam latches. They are
very easy to open and just close them and they latch. Only lid not to have them
is the battery compartment as it looks like they won’t lineup right.

Look at Boat Outfitters as they have some for $60. Great Lakes Skipper also.

I have been unable to find the manufacturer, I do believe it will be an easy swap.

Check out gemLux or boat outfitters like they listed above. Slam latches came up immediately when I looked at it

i doubt they (boat makers) redid the lid holes to change the latches. likely the latch companies made them to fit the current pattern with little change (if any)

going to convert the basscat? my 519 has terrible latches as they are locked or standing up, cannot turn t handle around and lay it flat in unlocked position.

Doubt it’s gonna work. The cam latches are offset towards the middle of the door too much. The slam latch has a small latch, kinda like a house door, that has to be pretty close to the inside wall of the box to actually grab. The cam latch has a long arm that twists to reach the slot.

I would like to say it’s easy, but it’s likely anything but…and probably a waste of money to even attempt it.
