    Exclamation HELP.. full engine report!

Im looking at purchasing my first bass boat, it’s a 2016 nitro z18. It has a mercury pro xs 175 on it and I just received a full report on the engine from the seller but tbh.. I don’t really know what I’m looking at. I’m looking for someone with a little more knowledge than me to look over it and see if anything bad stands out. I really appreciate any and all help so thanks in advance!

I would not take delivery until all those items are addressed, and a on the water test run to verify no alarms

In addition to the full report you also need maintenance history, when were plugs last replaced, water pump serviced (interval is annual or 100hrs run time), and lower lube replaced (also an annual service item). This engine is a 2.5L and there's a great FAQ full of information at the top of the 2.5L forum.

Things that jump out at me, 66% of total engine run time under 1500rpm, Guardian activated 37 times for port thermostat overheat last time @ 4952rpm and 156deg.

Might be a good engine but without maintenance history tough to know. Wait for Joe54 or EuropeanAM comments.

You came to the right place for the best Mercury support bar none!

Low Voltage: Battery, connection or other similar problem.

OVERHEAT (Guardian Fault): Port side is overheating, start with water pump and make sure the thermostats are functioning properly once that's done.

Don't worry so much about the faults from back around 224 hours. Someone was "dinking around" unplugging coils while the key was on (or turned the key on with them unplugged). There was also a low block pressure at that time, so it's quite possible stuff was disconnected on the coil plate for some reason and the key was turned on causing at least the EST faults.

Emergency stop will log every time the lanyard is pulled (or tested during a tournament).
