Best grunge band from the 90s?

I am an older country music fan and classic/southern rock fan but there were some very good grunge bands in the 90s, I was a big hair metal guy in the 80s but that died out. Who is your top 3 90s grunge bands?

Alice in Chains or Soundgarden I would have a hard time picking the best of those two.

me too. Everclear had some good songs and Lit had My own worst Enemy... never forget watching Mtv spring break in 2000 and they played that on stage and models were coming with swimsuits, the last model, Carmen electra, wow, imprinted in my mind forever. It's youtube if you want to reflect

    This is a good list.
There's lots of decaffeinated brands that are just as tasty as the real thing.

I often wonder what could have been if they would of stayed off the drugs. I think 3 of the original band members died from od's.

Solid list Mean Dean. Alice in Chains was a great band, I'd probably add Offspring.

Drugs did in so many that are listed here. Layne, Scott, Kurt and I'm purely guessing but I bet Chris was fighting a drug demon too. It seems that once you try the hard stuff you never really get over it.

Tough question for me. Pearl Jam 10 is a great great album and they are terrific but kinda lost me after Vs. Nirvana can be great to me but they aren’t my favorite. Soundgarden has one of the best vocalist of all time in Chris Cornell,I mean the man could sing. Now Alice In Chains really holds my attention, for me no weak songs in the catalog except maybe Angry Chair. Bush is very good and 16 stone is a terrific album imho. Stp had some good albums in Core and Purple. Everclear was or is a good band, don’t know if they are Grunge. Pantera is Grove Metal and Dimebag was a great player.

I think most of them had terrible depression and anxiety that was untreated that lead to substance abuse.
