    Gloomis 895 vs 894 vs 873 NRX+

After a little friendly disagreement on rods over the weekend with buddies. I wanna hear your thoughts.
You have to rig up a 3/4 football jig, 1/2 oz 10” worm, and 1 oz. Carolina rig.
    I said:
    895 crig or football
    894 football
    873 worm

They argued all weekend that the 873 is made for crigs. Let’s hear your take on it.

Do your friends have any of these rods, do you?

In the end, a rod needs to fit the individual's preferences. So if one likes rod x for technique A and the other does not, who cares? Lol.

I've always heard the 873C "CRR" (which stands for Carolina Rig Rod) was too soft for a Carolina Rig. Of course depends on how you Carolina Rig, and, in my case, I like to use at least a 1oz. sinker, so , YES, the 873c CCR would not be the right one for me. Labels, specs, numbers designated by the rod companies really mean nothing. You have to try the rod yourself to be sure, I've seen inconsistencies even within the same manufacturer.
