Prop Size recommendation please! Specs in post.

2008 TR21x HP w/ 10" Atlas Hyd. JP (no holeshot plate but will be adding), 2019 250 Pro XS 4 stroke.
    Dual Minnkota Talons 6'
In the bilge compartment: 3 deep cycle lead acid marine batteries, 1 agm cranking battery, 1 12v lithium mini battery (for electronics), 4 bank noco charger, small lithium battery charger.
Prop, at the moment, 25 fury.
On bow: 36v Ultrex with Mega 360 & M360 bracket. Mega Live on TM shaft. Helix 8 mounted on a Deckit Mount.

Getting 5200 rpm 62 mph tournament loaded.
Hole shot sucks and is much worse when livewells are full.

Before you do any prop swapping make sure the motor is getting 100% throttle.

Had that checked at the shop. They hooked it up and said it was.

That hull with a 250 2 stroke has no problem turning a 27" pitch Tempest so with your 4 stroke I would go with a 25" pitch Tempest.

25 has more cup so if it reaches 6200k in cooler weather that would be a fast rig!!!

That hull can run high 70s with that motor on it. It would do over 80 with a 250 2 stroke.

23" Bravo XS/FS is what I would put on it, great getting on plane, great carrying a lot of weight, great all of the way around.

Not enough pitch. A 25 Bravo would be better.

He's only getting 5200 rpms with a 25" fury, which turns the same rpms as a 26" bravo......a 25" isn't going to get him 800 rpms or even close to 600.

That is because he isn't getting the lift from a Fury. Once that boat is up on pad it will be on the rev limiter pretty quickly with a 23 Bravo. That is a 75-78 MPH setup, a 23 Bravo won't get you there.

I owned one of these with an 08 250 proxs-2 for over 10 years and did a lot of prop testing. The best prop for speed was a 26 Tempest that was B&B by Mark Croxton. I bought 2 of these new and had them shipped directly from Rothwell to Mark to be worked. I still have one that is in extremely good condition which was the back up. A 25 Fury 3 was a good all-around prop for the 2 stroke and a Bravo 1 xs 27 was my rough water and heavy loaded prop.

I had contemplated this since I was going to repower with a 250proxs-4. With that said you can run any of these with a 1" lower pitch on a 4 stroke. If it were me, I would keep it simple and just go with a 24 Fury or a 26 Bravo 1FS which I believe is the same as the XS with 4 pvs holes.

One last bit of advice. Buy new props, used units can look good but you never know what you're getting. I would also replace the lead acid batteries with lithium since you are excessively rear heavy. Target 6000-6200rpm which should get you into the low 70's. Mine ran 80 lightly loaded and 76 on tournament morning. Hopefully you know how to drive a boat with a narrow pad.

Buying a used prop and having it worked by a good prop shop is a much better option. Even when new many props need some work to get the most out of them. Also on that boat taking the weight out of the rear and going with lithiums will kill your bow lift and top speed, I see that all the time.

I disagree with your statements. The op’s setup is already stern heavy. In general lighter is faster. As I said previously I have owned this hull for over 10yrs and know it well.

I can assure you that a new modified prop will out perform a used modded unit most of the time. Don’t waste your money on an unknown. Especially if you’re testing because it just adds another variable. Smart people learn from other’s mistakes, learn from mine. There are parts of the blade geometry that are hard to measure and duplicate. There are also structural issues that can develop from cold working and/or from excessive welding.

I have had new props and I have had used props. A used prop worked by Mark Croxton runs better than any new prop I have tried. I have a different Triton than he does but I also have a 10" jack plate with power poles in the rear. I took two batteries out and ran it to see how it does and it was definitely slower.

You had Talons, a hydraulic JP and 5 batteries?

I was not comparing a used b&b prop to a new prop. A modified new prop will out perform a used repaired and then modified prop. This is not debatable. Don’t waste your money or time. Repaired props are for a backup or low performance use.

Poles, 4 batteries, and a 10" hydraulic jack plate. I have never had an issue running a used repaired prop. My used balanced and blueprinted Tempest runs better than any new one I have tried even after having work done. Having the prop worked correctly is far more important than new vs used.
