    HB/Garmin mix on same boat

I'm curious for those that have run both on the boat at the same time, have you been able to run 2d from both simultaneously? I'm looking at revamping to either thru hull or shoot through on my boat. Probably a Garmin in hull and probably an Airmar-HB shoot thru. My plan at least initially is to run the Apex for SI and 2d/chart and the Garmin for live imaging, but I do want to start using the Garmin quick draw and having 2d/temp would be handy.

Is it practical to shift the frequencies enough to make them work without major interference?

If I do shoot through HB on my Y cable, can I direct the water temp signal to come from the SI transducer or does that split to the 2d?

The SIDB Y cable only changes the 2D source.
Shoot-thru transducers can be with or without a remote temp sensor. The temp sensor would not be connected using the Y cable.

So if I follow, the temp is coming from the MSI anyhow?

I was thinking of running this one: https://www.hodgesmarine.com/airm285...nbird-14p.html

The receptacle accepts either the HB or Garmin version so I have a solid foundation to work from.

While I don't think that I have the same setup that you are planning to use, my Garmin uses the DCS transducer on my Ultrex while my 1199 uses a SI transducer mounted to the transom, which can give me a 2D image. I'm more worried about the Livescope and 360 going at the same time than I am with the two traditional transducers going, and it's been fine.

I'm definitely glad I only purchased one HB unit. Same old same old just like 2018 with my Solix with bugs in the software. My Garmin unit is working fine what little time I have had to mess with it. Primary reason for HB was all of my Autochart saved data, but at this point I could have gone out with the Garmin and remapped a good portion of what I had saved.

Don't mean to derail your thread, but that thing costs $890!!! What can it do that a $130 Humminbird Chirp can't?

If he plans on using it as the only 2D ducer it is way better quality. If it is only used for on plane depth the cost can’t be justified in my mind. It is a way better transducer if the price is no issue
Tell me where has a slow movin' once quick draw outlaw got to go
