    Prop advice

Hey guys im looking at a 2007 stratos 295 xl 200 hpdi
I havent bought it yet but im wondering if its under propped right now.
He is running a 25p tempest plus. no J plate but I may put a Bobs action jack plate on it.. thinking 6"
The owner has never ran it wide open .. I know him and im sure that's true.
he said he had it about 60 once and it started chine walking so he never got it there again. Of course, I told him let me drive it ill find out lol.
So what do yall think as far as prop and J plate set back is a good match for this rig?
someone told me it should run in the low 70s .. that true ?

72-75 is doable. Motor height is important on that rig, as it will have an awful chine walk when the motor is too low. 2 3/8-2 1/2 in below the pad should be close depending on load and batteries.

It’s a good place to start. I wouldn’t worry about any set up issue
