    Puma STS electrical issue

Had my 24 STS almost a year with no issues yesterday out about 5 hours at that point out of the blue when i shut my key off after moving and everything shut off including screens and touchpad. Master power still worked and was on breaker not blown. I pushed buttons on touch pad and they all beeped but none lit up at all. Tried shutting off master power at console and back on didnt change. Went to battery main shut off and back on then everything worked as normal again. Fished another 5 hours and it never happened again. Ive got 100hrs on my motor and this has never happened once. Should i be checking something or is the brain about to take a crap. Thanks

See my A10 post from Saturday - https://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=1291109. I called BCB today and they are sending me another A10 pad. Also, they recommend if it happens again that I move my main engine leads to the posts on my AGM by themselves. He said doing so has resolved similar electrical issues. These would work - https://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart...lb/14972164535. I will move my leads along w/ switching out my A10. Better safe then sorry. You may consider doing the same.

Thanks man I’ll talk to them tomorrow. Also I’ll start by moving my engine power directly to the battery. Likely makes sense since it happened when I shut my key off.

I would reccomended using lock nut instead of wing nuts.

Every marine connection should be made with nuts, as presented above.

Also, we use a copper washer sandwiched between the terminal and any connection for the terminal block. Those copper washer have sometimes been removed by marine techs, as they are needing more depth on post terminals. We highly suggest you keep use of those copper washers to improve efficiency of those connections.

My issue ended up being the engine power wires to the battery block. I moved them direct to battery terminal and have not had problem since. I did get a new A10 but have not installed it yet. been out several times with no issue. Likely fixed i would say. Thanks, guys for the tips. Also BCB i dont have copper washers on my connections. When i bought my boat i kept my batterys so im going to assume that when it came in with batterys the techs took them out and didnt save me the washers. Were you talking about just where the block attaches to the battery, or where every connection is on the blocks?

We use the copper washers on the main battery terminal on the cranking battery. That seems to be where low voltage and connections can be a problem.
