I think I’m good but here is what I did

I had to run a long flat today to get out of a creek on the tidal river with a south west wind which gets the tide super low. I had to trim all the way out and run near top end and got almost to the end and bam! Hit something in the mud. It was routine flat running around here but very very shallow. So as I came off the flat I noticed my water pressure was lower than normal but not bad enough to send an alarm, also noticed my engine temp dropped to 113. So I sat it down and shut it off. Trim motor up and saw I knocked a.chunk of my skeg out. I idle back to the ramp and trailered. Took the hose and flushed and back in the water, temps never got over 105 at idle or on plane. Took the thermostat out and I blew out small rock, mud and shells. Put it back together and backed it down the ramp and left it on the trailer and fired it up. About a minute or so temps reached 141 at idle. That’s where it usually gets to. So did I do it right ? Hope I’m good to go. Skeg repair at some point

Not a skeg repair- a replacement HOUSING a replacement gearcase would be in order (get in touch with your insurance).

Propshaft runout also needs to be checked.

Water pump should be REPLACED (all of the crap went through it), and all THREE strainers should be cleaned as well.

A very careful inspection of the trim, transom brackets, mounting hardware, steering and hardware, jackplate and hardware, as well as the bottom of the boat should be conducted by a well-trained tech.
