Chick ramp Ryan Tounament annoucement today

To whoever posted the Steve Ryan Memorial Tounament accouncement today on my windshield (black Honda Ridgeline/BassCat trailer) at the Chick Rt 5 ramp today; appreciate the work you are doing for someone that was obviously special to this group.

While I am new to the area and frankly just starting this bass "thing", never fished a bass tournament, etc., I am finally getting a pretty good hang for the Chick and I'll see if I can find a partner and join you. Looks like a good cause even if I do embarrass myself.

Re: Chick ramp Ryan Tounament annoucement today (10 lbs or bust)

You can not embarrass yourself no more than I have. Years ago I went to a tournament with a friend of mine that didn't fish much. We were at Gaston out of Holly Grove, we went out and caught about 25 fish that day with the biggest one almost 8 pounds and 2 5's to go with it.We waited until about 20 minutes before the weigh-in to go to the ramp. When we got to Poplar creek at the ramp I grabbed the fish and bounced my way up with that sack of fish only to then realize we were at the wrong ramp. We got DQ'ed for being late. Then 2 weeks later at an ABA on Kerr 2 guys were talking about a dumba$$ on Gaston that done the same thing I did...then the other guy said ain't that him...lol. no that was embarrassing.

Hay Corky if you need a partner let me know. I'm a little rusty catching fish but can embarrass myself with the best of them. Here is my email. newbob69@yahoo.com

Corky, were you in a Basscat? I put several flyers in windows Friday. I was in a red/black/white Champ 210.

We found the fishing to be harder than we expected. Our best 5 may have gone 11 pounds.

You got it - Basscat with blue metalflake on the top rails, white sides, black bottom. Dead giveway is the SD tags on the trk, trl, and boat. Not too many boats with South Dakota tags on the Chick

I didn't get on the water until 8AM and pulled the pin when high tide came rolling in around 1:30 but have to agree things were a little tougher than they've been lately. Maybe it is the heat; heck, I'm a novice and don't really have a clue. Things were slow on Morris, not bad around Daschund and a few Cypress tree areas in between. Shot up Gordon Creek late when the tide was rolling in for the first time but that was a bust for me.

Think I saw that Champ at least once. I'll try to keep my eyes open a little better in the future. I have to go back to the Midwest next week to work and will be in Alaska fishing the following weekn but will hit the Chick again on the 13th and probably the 23rd prior to the Ryan memorial tournament the 25th.

Look forward to meeting up down the road.

    Corky
