Throttle and shift adjustment

I have a 1993 johnson gt 200 hp (vj200sletc) I just installed new shift and throttle cables.Every thing works fine but i noticed that when i shift to forward it takes quite a bit of throttle movement to increase rpm's but as soon as it shifts into reverse and move the throttle just a little rpms increase.Is this just an adjustment? Thanks

Sam,
Remove the cable from the shift lever on the motor. Shift the motor to neutral and sping the prop with your foot. Shift between forward and reverse a few times then back to neutral. Now adjust the cable to fit and you should be good to go.
