Spent a few hours on Northwest River today....warm and extremely windy
water temp 53~59 degrees
water stained to muddy
Pretty much had the river to myself. Ended up catching 2 bass a bowfin and a pickerill, all on soft plastics (gambler ugly otter in winter craw color).
Figured it was time to head home when the water skiers showed up

I used to surf in the cold Atlantic back in the day when winter was here.....but being pulled on a wakeboard......not happening!
At least the guy in the pic has a full suit on. Last weekend on Anna we saw a guy with shorts and short sleeves out, water temp was like 54. Just crazy...
the day that was takin i slid down the ramp-mid lake launch-because it was a sheet of ice..

Yep, I've seen the skiers on Hyco every time I've been there this year. At least the water is a little warmer there. Those guys on Harris are "Pros", they ski almost every day to practice.
Discipline is the key, if you can't hack it, pack it!
