    Fuel pick up tube assembly?

I’m going to change mine because if getting a check engine alarm last night & bulb sucking flat. I’m seeing either 12” or 24” & mines is 15. If cutting the longer one off how do you attach the strainer on the plastic tube? Or should I just go with 12” ? I see sierra has a 22” flexible one. Would this be the best bet is to get it & just thread it in with the extra lying on bottom? Thanks

Weird thing today. I took fuel line off of antisiphon valve to remove fuel pick up tube & noticed the primer bulb was hard as a rock. I had gutted the anti siphon valve years ago. I tried pumping it & it wouldn't budge. I ended up taking the line off of the filter at the motor & squeezing it really hard then fuel shot out of it. I assume this was a stuck check valve causing this? It also shot what looked like a big clot of oil out which i thought was pretty weird. The tank was clean & i honestly never saw anything wrong with the pick up assembly but i I ended up ordering both a new pick up assembly & a brp fuel line/ primer bulb assembly to replace it all. This thing has been driving me crazy trying to figure out what's wrong with my motor.

Insert a piece of 3/8" ID clear vinyl fuel line inline with the supply hose and the engine filter and look for air bubbles. Recheck the linkages for the throttle and timing maybe a stripped out screw hole? I have seen the throttle cam crack allowing the throttle shaft to spin inside it.
