    Water in exhaust?????

This is regarding a 2000 Johnson 200 hp. When you stop your boat and water comes over the exhaust at the back of the motor, does it get affected like the Ficht? I know there was issues with this in big waters with the Ficht, just wondering if the Johnsons had similar issues. Thanks in advance.

Depends on how much you take over the stern. The air vents on top channel air to the belly pans. That would be the path the water would have to take as well. The belly pans have drains on them so the water can escape but it isn't instantaneous. But the air box cover's lower two carb intakes have damns over them (air still gets in) to keep water out. You would have to have almost 18" of water in there to get to the lower carbs. Hope this helps.

Thanks Championman, the boat and motor is new to us. What happened was that the boat was running very well, we stopped to talk to a buddy and when we powered up again it just would not go properly. We did make it back across Lake Erie to where we launched. Mike then pulled out the plugs and did a compression test on each and checked plugs for spark. All cylinders had 100 lbs but one at 90. We just got the boat back from a local marina where they did all kinds of testing on it and they said it was fine. I am hoping its nothing serious.

I run the exact same motor as you and have zero problems out of it.

We ran the 150 Fast Strike for 4 years with minimal issues with it either. I think if there is anything with this one is just because it was not used very much at all and it may be going through shock syndrome as our boats do not get much rest
