You bet. Brand new HDS-7. Worked great for about 30 minutes then blew up. For the last 5 years I have had nothing but trouble out of Lowrance. Two 522's that never worked right. LCX 37c that lasted 2 yrs and 4 months - I sent it to Lowrance last week. Bought the 7 in order to have something while they took a month to tell me what they will do about the 37. Then the 7 blows up.

Operator don't blow em up. Made in Mexico does. That company has been crap since Navico took over. Only reason I didn't catch a bird this time is cause I didn't want to bilge dive to change the ducer. I'm paying the price for being a lazy azz.

They are are all electronics. They both have good and problem units. It boils down to your personal likes and dislikes. I have run LMS for several years and haven't had any problems. Does not make they better than a bird. Kinda like Ranger, Champion and Skeeter. Some have had bad problems with all three brands. Doesn't make one better than the other. Personal prefrence.. Does not make a hill of beans to me I can't use my outdated electronics to a fraction of there capablities.

Your luck can't be as bad as mine. That 5 will probably last you 20 years. If I bought it - maybe 20 days.
