    Overheating Evinrude 120

I have a new to me 1985 Evinrude 120. When running on muffs for about 5 minutes the starboard head is cool to the touch, but the port head is on the hot side. I pulled the thermostat and it seems to be okay. Any ideas why the port side head is running hot

    Thanks

Not an expert but I think i would check the starboard thermostat , it shouldn't be cool after 5 min. If you can hold a finger on the head for no more than three seconds, its about 140 degrees.

Good point. If the starboard thermostat was stuck wide open would that also reduce water flow to the port cylinders, especially on muffs at a lower rpm
