Sure do it everyday. Price depends on where you buy the kit. Check http://www.pitstopmarine.com right now JR has a deal on them. You'll need to pull the motor to remove the old cables unless they are froze then hit them with a cut off wheel and say good by. Tape a mule tape to the old cables and get a 3" hole saw for the new helm. Two people to purge the lines. About a 4-7 hour job depending on your skill set.

to fit new steering does take a while, because of removing old cables and helm, refitting new, running tubes and then all the tidying up, bleeding the air out of the system, it is all time consuming work, but the end result is well worth it, smooth effortless steering that does not zip off in a circle as soon as the wheel is let go, I reckon it should not be legal to fit cable steering in anything now

you wont have to but the Sea Star line . they make a line for 150 Hp or less . it is the Bay Star. you can find the entire kit on ebay for about half what the seastar line costs. i had one , and it is even easier to steer than the seastar.

If you are going to install it on a bass boat application then the bay star ain't for you. If you have a center console or runabout then you are OK. Teleflex should have set that system for 130 HP or less.

Scott...put a Seastar Pro hyd steering system on my 98 150 Faststrike. Was'nt really that big a project. Just take your time and follow the instructions. And yes, two people make the job alot easier. Bought the whole setup on ebay for about $600 (and that was with tilt steering). Look aroud, there are deals to be had. Good luck!!!
Just can't leave well enough alone!!
