    Testing Water PSI Gauge

The water PSI gauge on my boat is not working. I have disconnected the tube and blew air through it, removing a small amount of debris. Hooked it back up, still nothing. I have a strong steam coming out of the motor, so no issues there.

If I remove the gauge from my boat, would blowing air thru the back of the fitting make the dial go up? Or does it need to be connected to power?

    Thanks

The gauge doesn't need power (only for the light). Yes you can blow into it but not really hard as too much pressure will wreck it.

Thanks, that’s what I was thinking.
Mine isn’t registering anything when blowing air in the back so I’ll order a new one!

could be a crack in the hose somewhere, mine had a crack in the Motor sock, where all the hoses/cables run in the splash well

the hose probably froze during the winter and cracked the hose.

you could run a new hose from the motor directly to the gauge to see if that works.

Unhook the hose at the motor, put the muffs on and start it. You should know instantly.
