    Fire Pictures

They got it stopped 3 miles from me. Some of the pictures are from last weeks fire when it was about 6 miles away. Most of the pics were taken from my front porch. The close up pics are of my friends ranch that burned, thank goodness they were able to save his house.

    Re: Fire Pictures (Corkpuller)

The fire first started Tuesday before last about 6-8 miles away, on the other side of the big hills. They fought it for a couple of days and got it out except for the hots spots. They spent 1 day on those and pulled out, at that point it had burned 4400 acres and was 5 miles away. Several of us have been watching it because hot spots were still burning all the way thru this weekend.

This is what pisses us locals off. The guys closest to the fire have been calling the fire dept all week telling them about the hot spots and they would not respond. It finally relit yesterday and after several calls the FD sent out 1 guy in a 1 ton truck. He pulled up and called in the rest of the FD. In turn they called the Forest Service and BLM guys. Because the FD was not monitoring the fire and putting out hot spots, another 600 acres burned and a family lost their house. Needless to say, lots of folks are pissed around here.

Adele and I just got back from there. Their monitoring it now with the Breck fire dept and the BLM guys. Going to be interesting to see what comes about with the FD..As far as what started the fire,,they have no idea..

These little FD can't fight fires like this, they don't have the manpower or the equipment or the skill. These things are fought different than say a house fire. If it wasn't for the FS and BLM, I would be burned out and it would still be going. With that being said, the local FD should still monitor and put out hot spots.

    Sounds like negligence to me...

I'm sure that's the case with the majority of like circumstances.

I just hope y'all don't have to face this again.

Can y'all believe it's still burning in spots. I see smoke plumes every day. It's been 15 days since it's started and it still has hot spots going..
