Knew I should have went to work.

Decided to take the day off and go fishing. Well the day started out okay until I reached my second spot. At that time when I put the engine in neutral nothing happened! The engine stayed in forward. I was unable to get neutral or reverse. So I ran back to the marine, put the boat on the trailer and hauled it to the dealer. This is a case of a bad day at work it better than a bad day fishing At least it is under warranty. Any ideas as what could be wrong?

Could be just the shift cable. If thats what it is, its no biggy at all.

I would bet on the shift cable.
