Two years ago while closing a couple storage compartments, I accidentally had the compartment latch in the wrong position, and dinged up the inside lip of my gel coat in two of my most used storage compartments. On top of that, I had a Non Boater standing on one of my rear storage compartments that was not properly closed. Even though you can't see the gel coat damage when the compartment is closed, it still bugged me. After some trial and error, I came up with a solution that would prevent further destruction of the gel coat on the inside lip of all the storage compartments and live wells.



Sold as complete sets. Each set contains 9-14 individual plates depending on boat model. Complete sets will cover all boat Compartments/Rod Lockers/Coolers & Live wells.

Ranger Boat Strike plates look factory & will protect the gel coat lip inside the boat compartments from chipping and scratching when the compartment latch is accidentally closed in the wrong position.

Ranger Strike Plates are form fitting, and require No-Drilling. They are easily installed in a few minutes using 3M double sided waterproof molding tape.


Plates do not interfere with the compartment gasket seal.


Plates are quality built & constructed from 6061 grade Aluminum


All plates are hard Coat Anodized in your choice of mat finish colors. Black, Blue, Red, or Clear/Silver

I purchased these as I've had a few chips along the way thanks to a few gorilla pulls from my friends and I. Not only do the colors match, but once installed they blend in like it was factory. Here's some before / after photos.

plates go on top of box so it doesn't chip when dropped in the closed position? pictures look like you put on lower edge to stop arm from hitting???

i used this on lower lip to stop damage and also put heat shrink on stainless arm to make it softer when it hits the glass/gel

I decided that this was better as all my lids had the rubber around it and if the lid slammed with the latch bar in the way, it hit that first. I can see what you're saying, I went a little different than the above. Appreciate the link...may need to rethink this now.

Yes sir...ordering some of that weather stripping from your add and I'll order more of the 3M tape so I can move these to the lip. Good looking out.

i also put some big heat shring on the metal tang and shrunk i tup a little so it isn't metal hitting the gel heat shrink a little softer and also less sharp now

get 2 extra, as the livewell has 2 lips that can be hit accidently. he did it for me as a low cost add-on

New sets come with the extra plates for the Live wells, and each plate is now 5-1/4" long for added protection. Ranger strike plates are currently out of stock, but I should have new sets ready to ship by the second week in January.
