NRX+883C BJR
Looking for some feedback on the NRX+883C BJR. I fished this for a year now and have mixed feelings about this rod.
3/8oz seems to be just about the max range for this rod. It really loads up on the cast and requires almost an under hand roll cast for accuracy.
I have caught a bunch of fish with the rod just not what I was hoping for . I was hoping it would cover up to a 1/2oz.
In the past I had used the 853C for my chatter baits and was happy up to 1/2oz with it. Also my accuracy and load was much better.
With all that said, has anyone had some time under their belt with the 883 and what do you think. Also looking to see if anyone used this rod for anything else such as a spinnerbait rod or crank bait rod.
Let me know your thoughts before it goes to the classified section.

I agree with your assessment of the power of the 883. I use my 883 for 3/8 finesse swim jigs and small swimbaits. I went outside the Loomis / Shimano brand for Chatterbaits and really like the ALX Rumble. The NRX 853 works fine for Chatterbaits as will the 893 if you want a little more length and power. Personally, I like characteristics of the composite ALX Rumble. Its has a soft tip that quickly stiffens up. I don't loose fish with this rod and the sensitivity is good..... not NRX good but good. Just my opinion...

Thanks Rick, I think I am going to try a few more things with this rod before I send it to the classifieds. Definitely not what I was expecting for a chatter bait rod.
