    Lower unit swap

Got a friend that just had lower unit damage to his stock L/U and got a new one(lightning) on his '98 Intruder 150. Problem is he was turning 5600 before lightning but now only turning 5000 with lightning.

Is the lightning geared different then his older stock L/U ?

    Can I swap my stock L/U ( '98 vindicator 225) for his lightning ?

Will my rpm's be the same with the lightning as it was with my stock?

    Thanks

You will have to swap the drive shafts and shift rods between the GC's. and make sure the shift rod height is correct on each.

Is the lightning the reason for the rpm change on his 150?

Length of gearcase would be my bet...especially with the 150....
