When it is all said and done it isn't any higher than what we were paying for DSL ATT and Direct tv, absolutely love ours.

For $120 a month in a very rural area we will take it. Once we get more options with competitive prices we will switch. But for now it's great!

I follow a couple on Facebook that are sailing around the world. With Starlink they have internet everywhere. It is the future.

We’ve had ours for a month or so. I installed mine and my daughter’s a couple days apart. She was paying $139 a month for Gen5 and was supposed to have speeds up to 25mbs and limited on internet. She barely got 10mbs. We only had LTE in the air. We have no cable internet access where we live so it’s satellite or what you can grab on LTE airways. My reception was about 8mbs to none. Now with Starlink, I may have as low as 50mbs (which is lightening speeds compared to before and with no interruptions) up to 290mbs so far. I’ve done a few speed checks, but haven’t throughout the day/night to see my max speeds. I’m super happy with our internet now. Well worth it to us. After 7 years at this address and dealing with sucky internet service, I’m well pleased! Plus it’s unlimited service, I can run as many devices as I’ll ever run and no issues. Not to mention, it’s a dual band system that can run simultaneously. So I can run TV’s, lap top, Alexa and phones inside on 5 GHz and run my security system (inside and out) on 2.4 GHz. Had a 14 month wait from date of deposit, but it was worth it!

I was at a friends place not far from Yellowstone last fall during elk season. We wen hiking in a national forest a couple days and we saw two different elk camps with Starlink dishes.

Talking with a friend who has one he told me there are various plans for taking it mobile. His current thinking though is to have one at his home in Indiana and one at his camp in Canada.

Yes, they have one for travelers. Around here, the mobile one came to people quicker than the house version.
