Lowrance Ghost head adapter/secondary latch replacements

    Hey all

After experiencing issues stowing/deploying my Lowrance Ghost yesterday, I inspected my bracket and found the head adapter (https://lakesidemarineandservice.com...ad-adapter-kit) sheared around the fittings for the bushings and the secondary latch (https://lakesidemarineandservice.com...dary-latch-kit) bent. I’ve ordered the parts, just wondering if anyone can give me pointers on completing the repair since I haven’t been able to track down a service manual or any relevant guides. Any guidance is appreciated, TIA

Had an issue where the lip slid up over the safety latch and it wouldn’t stow anymore but that was a simple fix. Can’t imagine trying to do what you are attempting. Think I would be finding an Authorized Service Center. Is your Ghost still under the 3 year warranty?

No, I purchased in March 2020 so I’m about 6 months past warranty period. I was able to get the head adapter off pretty easily yesterday by just removing a couple pins and of course the secondary latch came out with the pins as well. Seems like it’ll be pretty straightforward to put back together but wanted to check here to see if anyone had advice for me before I get started since I’m expecting parts by this weekend

Only advice is to be sure the safety latch goes under the tab on the head unit. It will want to go over but will not work that way!

Would you mind posting a photo of the latch installed in the correct position? I took plenty of photos of the latch before and after I took it apart, but I don’t have any photos showing what it looked like when it actually worked. Would be great to see where it needs to end up and the position of the connected spring, if possible

I'm taking the boat our tomorrow, might be able to get a photo then. It's pretty clear where it needs to go once you get everything lined up. It must be under the extension tab as you slide the motor down on the rails. There is a YouTube video. Just look up Lowrance Safety Latch or Motor won't stow and you should find it.
