Active Imagining 3-in-1 transducer problem

I have A CARBON 12 on the bow of my boat with a one year old Ghost TM. I installed the AI 3in1 transduce and downloaded the latest updates for the Carbon 12 and the Ghost several weeks ago. The problem is that on sidescan there is no image, the range lines and center line show and it seems to scroll down. The 2d works great. I hooked the Carbon to WHI Fi and it shows that the software is current. In the sonar installation page it shows CH2. AI 3 in 1 connected.

Is there some menus that I haven't found to turn on down scan and side scan. It displays sidescan fine when networked with the counsel Carbon 12 using the stern mounted transducer.

Is there some setting I need to change or do I have a defective transducer?

On The sonar page there is a menu item source pick This unit or AI3-1

I am not talking about installation, Did you check the source selection on a Sonar page?

If your Carbon is fully updated, Multisource and Channel 2 are both turned on, the source says This Unit, and you get a 2D image, your AI 3in1 transducer is defective. It’s the only thing left. You are testing on the water correct? It won’t work in air. I’d be purchasing and testing another transducer.

It’s been on the water and the image is the same as when it is out of the water and my thought was that the transducer is defective. Time to see about warranty. Thanks.

did you also check same thing on the Structure Scan Page?

I do not anything on the structure scan or down scan pages to select or deselect this unit.

Ok then, you haven’t confirmed that the transducer is bad. On the Structure page hit the menu and look at the source. You may have to select This Unit there as well.

I came Dow to the boat and turned on the carbon 12 tapped the pages button at the top of the keypad and then tapped on side scan icon. The sidescan comes up and in the right margin you have advanced and more options to click on and neither shows a place to select this unit. Am I looking in the correct place?

You said you could network to the console unit and see the image from the stern. In that same menu choice do you not have the option to select ALL sources on the network? Just to check things, remove any Ethernet cables and look at it again. With only one choice to choose from, the unit may default to the correct source.

Reading the manual, if you don’t see a source option on the first menu page, your unit is not connected to a network. After trying with the Ethernet removed, turn on all units and replace all Ethernet cables. Then the Source option should be there. At least that’s what the manual says. Page 80
Also, is this the Ghost 3in1 nose cone or a separate transducer?

This is a Ghost 3 in 1 nosecone. I have been trying to figure this out with the counsel unit off. I will take another crack at it tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
I can display the stern sidescan on the bow unit so that was telling me that the bow unit is working OK I was assuming that with only the bow unit it would show the 3 in 1 image. it does show the left/right range, temp and depth (the depth reading on the water is way off)

You say that you can see sidescon the bow unit from the rear transducer, have you tried seeing the trolling motor transducer on the console unit? I don't have a Ghost so I'm not sure if it works that way but it's a thought.

Got down to the boat this afternoon and several things. With both units on the front unit will show "this unit" in the upper right and it shows no image
If I toggle to HDS 12 it shows the rear transducer on the front screen and it looks like I would expect with the transducer out of the water and at the counsel when I go from This unit to HDS 12 (The front unit the screen is blank as on the front display. I am going to the lake this evening to make sure I am not being misled by not being in the water..Thanks again guys.

check depth is in auto, all i see unless channel 2 is turned off

When you installed the 3in1 nosecone, were you careful to fully seat the connectors? Otherwise, I'd say you got a bad one.
