    24V Lithium

Looking at swapping to one 24 Volt lithium trolling battery. running a 21XRD with a 80# ultrex will a 60 amp hour be enough or I need to go bigger. Anyone here running a similar battery? looking for suggestions

It depends on how you fish and the lithium batteries you choose. They are not all the same. I would call Lithium Pros and talk to them. Personally i dont think 60 is enough for me but thats me.

I ran a single 24v 60ah lithium pro with the run an the fly charger. It worked well for me but I didnt have spot lock or fish tournaments. It was an expensive option. 2500 for one battery and charger

I run a 24V 50AH Ionic with an Ultrex. It will last all day tournament fishing with heavy use and still have 40% left.

This! If you have current a 36v is a must though

For Ultrex, I prefer the 80ah. We have places with heavy current though, so I would want the max I could get if I was in that situation.

I have a 36v 100Ah and I think I can get several days of fishing out of it. 8 hours of fishing and I may use 20% of the charge. If I had to do it over again I'd have saved the money and gone with the 50Ah.

A 21 foot boat with only a 24v trolling motor on it? Go with 100 amp hour at least, you need all the help you can get.

That 21’ boat weighs less than most 18’ boats.

So it blows around in the wind easier, even more reason to have a 36v trolling motor.

So by your logic you should have a 36v on a plastic pond boat.

I've run multiple 36v ultrex/50ah lithium set ups in my boats. The only time I've had them turn off on me was the second day of fishing in Venice current. They didn't shut off until 4pm that day. Keep in mind I spot lock every time I get off of the deck in Venice so that i do not end up 600yds down the canal. I like the ionics and now I have monster marines and it seems to be a great battery.

For lithium never go with what you NEED, go with more then you need. The batteries last a really long time, so when your at the 8-10 year mark then you got less then what you need as the AH go down with the years/use.

Just keep that in mind when buying, i made that mistake when i bought my lithiums in 2013.

I run the same battery as wranglerSS, have been running it for 2 years now, I fish a lot of wind, never had an issue. I don't fish a lot current type rivers/ lakes. But I have never come close to running out of power an have fished 10 hours in serious wind.

The Run and Gun charging system from PowerHouse Lithium would get you by with a smaller 24v battery and keep your weight down
