On my drop shot rig I use 8lb flouro carbon and 1/0 hook with a egg style weight about 18" from my hook ........ And of course on a spinning rod.....

can you fish with that rig in the morning or only after 8 at night?

I think Ron n Skip have us ALL beat. They fish while theyre napping on the boat. They have the bells on the tips of the rods as they drap a C -rig all over the lake....

That ain't the reason for the bells, that is Linda and Martha's way of determining if they are dead or just sleeping. If the bell rings they know Ron or Skip are just napping and moving oh so very slightly, if the bell doesn't ring for an extremely long period of there is a possibly they might be dead.
