1995 Johnson 115 Fast strike v4 oil warning buzzer

Buzzer comes on after motor runs for 3 minutes and 50 seconds. Shut the motor off and restart and comes on again after 3 minutes and 50 seconds. Rebuilt VRO including gasket change. Motor is getting oil and runs great. Starts immediately and runs great.

Disconnect the two wire harness at the motor from the oil tank and see if it goes away. Harness will be near the starter.

Is it a solid tone from the buzzer, an on and off beep, or a beep about every 20-30 seconds?

The two wires from the oil tank are for the LOW OIL circuit which is a beep about every 20 seconds unless there is a problem in the electronics which could give off all types of signals then.

Your beep every few seconds is normally a NO OIL warning meaning that something may be plugged up or restricted, that the warning system electronics are acting up, or that the "VRO" is not lubricating correctly. Seek professional help, troubleshoot it yourself with the service manual, or premix your oil and fuel.
Do not continue to run the motor.

I unplugged the two wire connection and reconnected it and the buzzer no longer comes on. Thank you.

That means the electronics inside the oil tank got flakey, glad it is not a NO OIL situation. All you have to do is visually check the level of the oil tank periodically and when you fill up the gas tank.

I stop in from time to time, but you do such a great job that I am mostly redundant. Usually all I do is leave a smart-ass remark here and there.

The buzzer is now coming on again. Should I replace to electrical mechanism in the oil tank? I did check the color of the wires at the tank to ensure I was unplugging the right connection at the motor and that seem to have caused the buzzer to quit coming on.

Should I replace the electronics inside the oil tank? The buzzer is still coming on.

You could replace the sensor in the oil tank, although you may want to do like the rest of us that had VRO is to bypass the system and pre-mix. I burned up another engine with an oil mix system, so I don't have trust in them.
