    Summer Shoes

It gets stinky hot here in the summer, we can and will have weeks with 90+ to 100+ Of course I fish because thats what I do
Getting off topic just a little I keep a wide mouth water jug on ice in my cooler and when I feel too hot I put my sun gator in the water then on my head and the effect is awesome.

So I wear sneakers and frankly my feet get too hot, sometimes I take off my socks but still there is no air circulation.

Do you wear sandals, if so what kind. What about Crocs, never had a pair but they are full of holes so one would think they would work?

I have a thing about open-toed shoes and fish hooks, so I nearly always wear running shoes and socks. Yeah, they tend not to be cool on the hottest days, but I usually air out my feet in the shade and then change socks before putting back on shoes. I wear either Asic Gel Nimbus or Hoka Clifton shoes. They’re both very breathable shoes, and plenty comfortable unless it’s just hot as balls outside which usually means I’m back at the house in the A/C.

Bass Pro Shops Finley River sandals. I catch them whenever they are on sale and keep an extra pair. As stated above, I am a little paranoid about open shoes and hooks but so far no issues.

Just bought a pair of the Columbia water shoes that look like tennis shoes and like them so far.

I’ll use flip flops that are snug. Never had a problem with hooks but I also only have 3-4 rods on my deck and barely use treble hook baits.

I used to have a couple pairs of the Columbia PFG shoes and they’d hurt my knees so bad I could barely walk up 5 steps (I’m only 32).

No open toes here either, tennis shoes and suck it up lol. That’s not to say I may not take a 5 and take them off and sit on the edge with feet in water for a cool down.

Here for the croc and NB posters to come tho

Yea I couldn’t have open feet around hooks either. I will just have to deal with hot feet.

These shoes are cool, due to both have a lot of mesh material.

Have Sperry Hommes (discontinued model, 3-eye sneaker without the holes and string on back area) , similar to >> https://www.sperry.com/en/7-seas-3-e...s'&start=1

And pair of Saucony Cohesion 13 shoes, these are holding up pretty good. https://www.saucony.com/en/cohesion-13/43074M.html

Flip flops are what I like. I wear simms brand. They seem to be more comfortable than others I’ve tried.

Just bought my first pair of crocks. Plan is for the boat. In the past just wore water shoes or flip flops. These seem more comfy but have only worn around the house.

I like these for fishing… They can get wet, dry out quickly.. they’re cool and breathable.. too flat to be comfortable on gravel but fine in the boat all day..

Barefoot/Minimus shoes like marshman posted. I tried all sorts of different running shoes and always came home with a sore back.
Wire my 0 drop hard soled shoes I wear for weightlifting one day and had no back pain. Eventually progressed to barefoot type shoes.

Jeff, where are you getting your soft science shoes? I love mine but I thought they went out of business.
