Ok here is my honest opinion on the 2010 season. It is obvious that the Longhorns are in a rebuilding stage. One of the main problems is they don't have a leader. They were fortunate enough to have Vince Young for three years. During those years Colt got quite a bit of playing time and when Vince graduated Colt immediately stepped in and had the respect of the team and was an instant leader. NOW.... Gilbert rode the pine all last year and bacily had no playing time. One reason was Texas wasn't as good of a team last year as they were when Vince lead them to the National Championship. Last year we needed Colt to play most of the time to win. Gilbert got thrown into a National Champion game last year and wasn't prepared. It wasn't his fault. It was the coaching staffs fault. But Gilbert took the blame and instead of gaining respect of the players he lost some of the players respect. Now he has to earn that respect and leadership role. The thing that made Texas so dangerous last year was the McCoy to Shiply threat. That tandem won alot of games last year and this year we don't have the luxury of having that threat. NOW.... Truth be known I will have to agree with those SEC a'holes. The Big 12 is very weak this year. OU is still rebuilding I would say about midway thru, Nebraska is a little further along, Texas is just starting and may very well have some very tough years ahead of them. The Aggies, who the hell knows what they are doing. Every program goes through this rebuild process, Some better and faster than others. With the tradition that Texas has I think we will just fine.HOOK'EM HORNS
