Lithium question

After charging new lithium to 100% I’ve read it’s suggested to run the battery to 0%. ( the owners manual doesn’t state this though). Ran it all day the next day and only got it to 82%. Any suggestions on how to run it to 0% in the garage? I added a cigarette adapter and 12 volt fan but it doesn’t draw enough for the battery to even recognize it.

There is a bottom to lithium's depending on the type that is approx 50% and any lower you shorten the life of the battery. The Lithium iron phosphates can go down to 20%. The Average Lithium has 2000 to 3000 life cycles that is why most have a 10 yr warranty. My recommendation is look up your mfg of the battery and call them or read on them There is a lot of misinformation and con going on with Lithium's if you are not careful

Tony Callahan Hi Tony, to check if there any issues of the battery performance, we would recommend you fully charged and then discharge it to empty unitl the battery shut off and then re-charged. It means the battery has done the Complete a full charge/discharge cycle. During using, if you have any issues of the battery, feel free to contact us.


From the manufacturer. Guess I’ll ask them how to fully discharge it.

LiTime 100ah. That’s the problem, I would have no problem fishing 3 or 4 days straight but have other responsibilities and can’t. I’m just drawing a blank thinking of something to hook up to the battery to discharge it. I ran both graphs, AT and the 3D SS unit for 9 hours and still had 82%.

There's not a requirement to do this. Yes, running it down will ensure you are getting a balanced pack as long as you let it fully recharge.

More important is to periodically run the battery to a "low" SOC, <50%. You don't want to always want to run the battery between 80-100%, it needs to get lower so ensure the cells can balance.

If i leave my livescope with a black box, external GPS puck or switch on foot pedal of ultrex on.
It will draw it down.

100 ah lithium battery I have said cycle it 5 times 100-->0. I bought a 1500 watt inverter hooked it up to the battery then ran a Milwaukee heat gun on low for ~1.5 hours. Worked like a champ.
