I remember as a kid I caught one about 4 foot long and about as thick as a baseball bat. I brought it home and was messing with it in the front yard when it latched on to my wrist. Just then my mother pulls in the driveway to see me dancing around the yard trying to shake it off. I think she had a heart attack right there.

It is not me but I would do that. Snakes do not bother me. I have learned how to properly identify snakes and when to avoid the spicy ones.

Cool, I have done that many times. Had a pet snake when I was a kid that ate from my hand all the time.

I feed them rat shot from a 45 caliber mostly. If they get in my yard they are no longer water snakes! I don’t kill rat snakes or King snakes.(whatever you like to label them) If it’s a copperhead wanting to identify as a water snake it dies too! I was painting a truck panel outside my shop the other day and noticed a rat snake that was my area. It had been ran over and was dead. I thought. I needed to test my gun for spray pattern so I thought it would be cool to do the dead man outline around him. Rough as he looked when I got to his head he coiled up! Oops sorry thought you had passed away buddy. Now he is a totally black snake until he sheds. Would not have done that if I thought he was still alive. Checked later and it was gone.
