Almost time to fire up the E-Tec

Any reminders or tips for the new season. I've got a 200 HO E-Tec. Sat all winter long in one of the more brutal winters I can remember. COOOOOOOOOLD. I winterized it last year and stored it with the BRP 2+4 fuel conditioner. Is there anything I need to do before I fire it up in a couple of weeks? For the life of me I can't find the manual Don't wanna take any chances this year.

Serial Number 0511160. If ya check the history of the motor you may notice I've had some problems in the past with this motor. Just wanna take every precaution I can to make sure she stays runnin!

Fire it up and run it like ya stole it Joe. I would change the LU fluid first if you had not done it during winterization.

Do not use BRP 2 + 4 conditioner in the future. Sta-bil Marine (blue ) is better as it is not alcohol-based like 2+4. ( REAL IMPORTANT w/ todays fuel which may have some ethanol).

First I've ever heard of that. Anyone else? Also, I will not run ethanol in the E-Tec

Joe, It is a matter or time before BRP will change the old formula for 2+4 ....... of the 100 + products / brands that Gold Eagle makes; BRP 's 2+4 is the only alcohol based. BRP has been encouraged to change as Mercury finally did 2 years ago w/ their fuel additive.

Sta-Bil Marine ( blue ) is a good product & either it or StarTron is the only additive one should use.

Not all states require posting of ethanol content on retailers pumps. So get a test kit & know the exact amount in the fuel you buy. Cheap insurance to avoid problems in todays fuel supplies.

I was using Sta-Bil before and switched to 2 + 4 because it was a BRP product . Wasn't familiar with the ethanol regulations. I always assumed since Iowa had the ethanol pumps that the regular pumps didn't have any. I guess I learn something new everyday
