The XD-100 is the best and you will not have to use additives with this oil, the Ficht Ram oil is XD-50.
If you run the XD-50 oil you will need to decarb at least once a year.
So I would be better off using XD100 oil ? I just thought XD 50 was the best,The XD100 said it was not for fishing boats thats what threw me off.
The XD-100 is the best if price is not a problem.
Where did you see that the XD-100 was not recommended for fishing boats?

Saw the same thing today when i bought Oil..Has one of those charts on the back of the bottle..Aint no circle on the back showing Xd 100 for Bassboats..Has the circle for every other type of boat![]()
So i did the same thing..Bought the XD 50
Dam, I guess I need my glasses to look at the back of the oil jug.![]()

Is it wiser to use the same type of oil in a second hand boat as the original owner used. I worry about two different types of oils "setting up" if mixed together. I work in the ag field and I see tank mixes of chemicals turn to "Jell-O" before your eyes.
As long as both oils are TCW3 this will not happen.
Are you sure? I've seen chemicals in the ag field that showed identical chemistry. But "Brand A" would mix fine and "Brand B" would make pudding when tank mixed with "Brand C".
We suggest you only use brand "BRP".....![]()
I checked label on the back of the XD-100, I don't see any chart with circles, is this a Northern thing.....And Yes......I used my glasses.
Ditto John---I've got two gallon bottles and neither one has any type of chart on it.

All the bottles at my dealer have the little label thingy....I didn't read the one on the XD100, but did see it on the back as I was moving it to get to the XD50 since I'm a cheap bastage...![]()

Mine does not have it either, when I bought it this spring it had dust on the cap. Must be on the newer bottles, hope I don't have the old stuff that did not flow well in cold weather.![]()

The XD-50 is what has trouble flowing in cold weather.
