I bought a new elite FS and put it on the console of my boat. Took the boat out today and I have no problems with down and 2-D sonar, but I have no side scan. I only have one transducer on my boat. It’s a three in one transducer and it will not show up when I go to find the source / transducer. Previously I had an HDS 9 Carbon unit hooked up to my three and one and had no problems. Any idea what my problem may be?

Yes it says “this unit”.
Try unplugging it and plugging it back in. I have seen many people with the narrow locking collar on that connector not get it installed correctly. . Assuming you have it setup in sonar installation and that the transducer Type shows AI3-1 there even if its greyed out?
I will try that. When I go to settings/sonar/ installation I am seeing 3 in 1 shown and I am chossing that source. I have other hds units and was just puzzled why my side scan not working. I was wondering if i needed a adapter but 3in 1 trasducer shouldnt need adapter.
Personally I would power off the unit, disconnect and reconnect the 3in1 transducer then do a hard reset. Allow it to restart and give it a second to identify the network connections and transducers. It should work then. You should never have to select an XId transducer like an AI. Everything should be automatically identified. Only issue is you haven’t mentioned whether the unit is networked to others and whether the transducer is an AI 3in or a Totalscan 3in1. That would for sure make a difference.

As mentioned NEVER PLUG or UNPLUG a transducer with any unit running. Bad things happen as many have learned.

I have the Elite Fs at console and hds 9 carbon on bow and both are networked. I have a 3 in 1 transducer in back and HDI on trolling motor. My Carbon recognizes 3in 1 so I know its networked correctly. Im guessing something is wrong with unit or it needs reset.
