    Stren at Falcon

Been watching the weigh in and some of those guys were saying it was the scarest boat ride they have ever had...My buddy is in 7th place on the co angler side with 16lbs their still weighing in though...Big bass for co angler so far is 9.3 and on the boater side it's 11.13.

6 to 8 foot rollers....21 to 36mph wind gusts all day.

My bud ended up 8th, pretty good for a tough day.

Man those boys have Big you know what to be out in that wind and cold on that lake. I bet they had 6 foot rollers or more. 7th place with that bunch is really great.

    Re: Stren at Falcon (Stompy)

the guy in the lead with 38lbs lost his cowling, electronics and his TM tore off the fiberglass. there are 3 boats still stranded in mexico, they had to abandon ship. the game warden doesn't have jurisdiction so they can't get them yet.
Jeff kriet and All the other anglers are furious that they allowed the tourney to go on. 40+ mph winds 2 hr delay due to fog and raining till noon. They think they allowed the tourney to go on because they didn't want to cancel the the flw college tourney on saturday. they're paying people to take out the students.

I agree it should have been canceled, but no one fores you to fish. It a call you have to make. Just my opinion. My dumb ass would probably would been one of the boats stranded on the Mexico side.

Watched the weigh in, some of those guys were kissing the ground when they got back. I would have killed a day fishing very close to the ramp.

sounds to me like it's just the boats that are in Mexico, not the Anglers, right?

Earlier today they were stuck there, I'm sure someone has picked them up by now.

I would have hated to been a coangler with one of those guys going out in that and the bad part is as a co angler you can't really say no and stay cause the pro has to have somebody sign off for him at the end of the day.

    Re: Stren at Falcon (Stompy)

I got an up close and personal look at the six foot waves when we took some over the front of the boat!!! Let me tell you, it was definitely scary!! I was soaked from head to foot and froze to death all day long.

The boaters were stranded on the Mexico side with their boats. The Coast Guard and border partrol can't cross over the International line to rescue them. There was a late night secret run to rescue four guys over there. They were in stage one and stage two of hypothermia when they got them in the boat. Two guys even had to abandon their boat and swim to shore. Their boat was last seen crashing in the rocks!!! D&D Marina took their big boat out to rescue two of their friends that were broke down on the Mexico side. They parked their boat in a protected spot around the corner from their friends. Both of them walked to their friends to see how to get them out. When they went back to their boat, it was STOLEN!!!! So, now all four of them were stranded!!

I owe a lot to FLW and they are all very good friends of mine, but there is no way in heck they should have released us to fish day one. They knew the 40+ mph winds were coming and talked about how we all needed to stay safe if we went out. It was obvious that they didn't want to move day two to Saturday and have to cancel the college series. They put the lives of the FLW fishermen in jeopary over the fact they wanted to have the college tournament going on.

and these are the kinda people we let walk across our border on a daily basis and mooch off of our system, USA as great as it is needs to grow a set and quit trying to be so politically correct and start cracking some heads, i'm heading to falcon in a few weeks and this kinda crap really got me thinking twice about crossing over?

    Re: Stren at Falcon (Corkpuller)

Well my Bud won the co-angler side of the Stren. He had a 5 bass limit of 27lbs on the final day, with an 8 and 10lb kickers. He is also friends with Fats and Butterbean.

    Congrats Steve,,
