    Mounting transducer on trolling motor

I apologize if this has been asked and answered, but i searched and scrolled through 30 pages of threads here and couldnt find it. I'd appreciate any pics, answers, or guidance you can lend.

I'm replacing a 2D humminbird unit with a 93SV both at the console and the bow. I have a minn kota ultrex, which has the built in 2d transducer with the wiring running in the shift.

Whats the best way to mount the new, much larger transducer for the garmin? I'm assuming a hose clamp to the bottom of the trolling motor?
Are you then just running the wire up the shaft of the trolling motor with zip ties?

I guess that's my question. The 93sv came with the GT54. My understanding is the existing transducer on the TM would not give me SI or DI even if i bought the adapter cables since its 2d only. My assumption was the GT54 would be mounted between the TM skeg and the existing 2d sonar? Inked2d sonar transducer_LI.jpg

You are correct on everything. In the packet of transducer parts there is a plastic trolling motor mount. With supplied screws, attach to top of ducer and mount to troller as you have shown with the supplied clamps.

Thank you. are cable ties/zip strips the best way to secure the transducer cable to the trolling motor shaft, or is there a preferred way?

I also use electrical tape and then when I get to the troller cable I use velcro strips.......with zip ties you can zip them to much and mess up the cable.

You may also consider hose clamps instead of zip ties.
