Has anyone used the new replacment lower units from SEI?

My gearcase appears to be nearing it's life...i noticed SEI advertises new lower units, haven't heard anything about these, good or bad. Has anyone here bought one or hear anything about these?

One thing I noticed is that thier warranty seems pretty generous. Especially for something I'm going to run over logs, or buoys or grit...or the occational picknick table floating in the potomac.

They'r advertised as $795 for the lower unit less upper drive shaft and water pump. Not bad.

Man that is pretty cheap. Be interesting to see if anyone has used them. I pad that much for a used lower, of course it was complete.

I'd love to hear any info from people who have the lower unit. I need to replace the lower unit on my 03 225 HO.

I may just the be the first test subject if mine churns out any more slivers in the oil. I'll keep you posted. I suspect I only have a few trips on this one. It's not making any noise, but I just can trust the boat with the metal shavings.

what are they talking about an upper drive shaft? I thought that drive shaft was one piece all way down to pinion. that is one heck of price though. I want to get one of these too but not if I have to take old one apart to install drive shaft in new one.
