Re: Well How Did It Go At Ivie Hugo and Craig??? (rangerguy)

Eating, we ate like kings big ole steaks for dinner and Jerry did his magic on the breakfasts. MMM. MM Good!
Drinking, it never stopped once it was started!

Fishing was a little tougher but I did get me a 9.1lber Saturday morning dropshotting through some thick grass! Numbers were down for me anyhow but I did get quality.
Craig and company didnt make the opening bell on Sunday morning though. Hangover?
    Overall had a great time!!!

I thought we would try the Skip and Martha technique. Sleep till 9:30 and weigh in a 20 lb. bag. Seriously our alarm did not go off. I probably set in for PM. We drank a little too much. We made it out on the lake about 7:00 and caught several fish early. The bite shut down about 8:30 and we really had to work hard for fish after that. We did manage a few more fish out of the deep timber. Overall it wasn't bad for July and 100 plus temps. We did not have any big fish, but several in the 1 3/4 to 2 3/4 range. Only one fish over 18". I did catch a 17 7/8" smallie. My PB small mouth. As Hugo said the steak and drinks were awesome. Hugo thanks for the ribeye. We had a blast.

Speaking of lies. Craig went on and on about how great his Carrot stix are that he has and almost had me sold on that they are the best thing since sliced bread. But then he wanted to sell me ALL of his at a buddy rate.
Uhhhh No! I'll stick to my Allstars.

I received the 7'6" replacement via fedex about a hour before heading to Ivie. So the rod was still in plastic and @ $130.00 I thought was a good deal. I can't help it that they break. It is not for sale anymore. I used it Saturday and caught several fish with it. I do like the way they feel and fish. I hope this one holds up. Now all I have to do is get the 7'3" that I broke replaced. Man ya'll are hard to deal with

It was a good deal at 130.00, I thought Hugo should have jumped on it.

If Craig broke them with his hook set I cant see it holding up to my earth shattering one. I sometimes end up with just a spine attached to my hook and I sit around and wait for the fillets to float to surface!

Bad time for buying a new rod thats all. I'm moving to Midland on the 1st and I'm gonna spend alot of money doing it. You know how women are new house new things for the house. Why does all the furniture all of a sudden become obsolete and its only like 2years old?
